Bhubaneswar: Odisha government has set a target to make the state free of Naxal menace by March, 2026.
This was stated by Director General of Police (DGP) YB Khurania after a meeting with the SPs of Naxal affected districts of the state on Tuesday.
Stating that the deadline has been set by Home Ministry, the DGP said the Odisha Police was all geared up to meet the challenge. All the issues in the Naxal affected districts were discussed in the meeting and necessary actions would be taken up accordingly, he added.
The police have achieved remarkable success in detecting Naxal movement and destroying their camps, Khurania said adding that the operation against the banned outfit would be further intensified in coming days.
He expected further success in these operations and said the Naxals would be completely wiped out from the state before the deadline of March, 2026.
