Dharmendra, Aparajita Blast BJD Model Of Governance As BJP Readies 2024 Roadmap

Bhubaneswar: BJP Odisha in-charge Sunil Bansal arrived in Odisha capital on Saturday for a brainstorming session with senior leaders.

Speaking to the media, senior BJP leader and Union Minister Dharmendra said that there are lessons to learn from both Dhamnagar and Padampur models, keeping the 2024 elections in mind. “BJP is the main opposition party in Odisha and people expect us to being to the fore the incumbent government’s inefficiency and corrupt practices. Besides politics, we will be discussing strategies for strengthening party organisation at every level,” he said.

This meeting will help the saffron party to frame a roadmap for 2024, he added.

Bhubaneswar MP Aparajita Sarangi said the meeting will discuss ways for establishing a better connect with the people of Odisha, strengthening the booths and also the Padampur bypoll debacle. “BJP won 156 seats in Gujarat, which is a model of good governance and needs to be replicated in Odisha and elsewhere. What Padampur model are you talking about? Yesterday, I raised the issue of large-scale irregularities in which crores of rupees are being misappropriated by showing high-quality iron ore as inferior in Odisha. BJD is implementing a fraud model of corruption and bad policy. Do you think people will accept this?” she questioned.

After stalling BJD juggernaut, which had won five successive bypolls since 2019, in Dhamnagar, the BJP lost to the ruling party by a huge margin in Padampur.

Bansal, considered the chief strategist of the saffron party, is likely to allocate important tasks to the state leaders to focus on different Assembly and Lok Sabha constituencies for the 2024 polls. The party’s defeat in the recent by-election to Padampur Assembly constituency in Bargarh district will also be analysed and necessary corrective measures taken, sources said.
