Bhubaneswar: Amid COVID-19 lockdown, Union Petroleum & Chemicals and Steel Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Tuesday discussed the plight of Odia labourers in Surat with Gujarat chief minister Vijay Rupani.
In a telephonic conversation, Dharmendra also inquired those stranded in Surat and other districts of Gujarat.
In reply, the chief minister said that his government has been taking proper care of the Odia labourers by providing them with shelter, food and adequate healthcare facilities. Besides, necessary arrangements have also been made to maintain social distancing among them iat these shelters.
He also informed the Union Minister that his government officials are in constant touch with the Odisha counterparts on the safety of the Odia labourers.
