Diarrhoea Spreads In Another Village Of Odisha’s Nabarangpur
Nabarangpur: The people of another village in Odisha’s Nabarangpur district have been admitted to hospital after suffering from diarrhoea and vomiting.
As per reports, the villagers of Khatiguda in the district including some children complained of diarrhoea and vomiting a few days back. But they underwent home treatment instead of going to hospital.
As their condition deteriorated, they were admitted to the community health centre (CHC) at nearby Tentulikhunti. At present, 11 villagers are undergoing treatment, the sources said.
A 3-member team from the Health department visited the village and collected samples from the water sources used by the villagers for consumption. They also met the patients in the CHC and enquired about their condition.
The Health team told the media that consumption of polluted and untreated water might be the cause of outbreak of diarrhoea in the village. However, the exact cause of the disease would be known after getting the test report of the water from the laboratory, they added.
It may be noted that around 20 people of B Maliguda village under Nandahandi block in the district had undergone treatment for diarrhoea a few days back. The lab test report of the water from the village confirmed that the disease had spread due to consumption of polluted water.
