Washington, DC: Did the US use a mystery e-weapon to neutralise defences around Venezualan president Nicolas Maduro before capturing him in Caracas on January 3?

According to a witness account shared on X by the White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt, the US used a “powerful mystery weapon” that “brought Venezuelan soldiers to their knees, bleeding through the nose and vomiting blood.”

In the post shared by Leavitt, a guard operating in Venezuela at the time of the attack recalled how American forces wiped out hundreds of fighters without losing a single soldier. He mentioned that the US soldiers used technology unlike anything he has ever seen — or heard.

“We were on guard, but suddenly all our radar systems shut down without any explanation,” the guard told The New York Post.

“The next thing we saw were drones, a lot of drones, flying over our positions. We didn’t know how to react.”

Moments later, a handful of helicopters appeared — “barely eight”, by his count — deploying what he estimated were just 20 US troops into the area.

The soldier described how the few men came armed with something far more powerful than guns, referring to it as a “mystery weapon”.

“They were technologically very advanced,” he recalled.

“They didn’t look like anything we’ve fought against before.” What followed next was a “slaughter”.

We were hundreds, but we had no chance,” he said.

“They were shooting with such precision and speed — it felt like each soldier was firing 300 rounds per minute,” he added.

“At one point, they launched something; I don’t know how to describe it,” he said.

“It was like a very intense sound wave. Suddenly I felt like my head was exploding from the inside.”

The effects were immediate and horrific.

“We all started bleeding from the nose,” he said.

“Some were vomiting blood. We fell to the ground, unable to move. We couldn’t even stand up after that sonic weapon — or whatever it was.”

The guard noted that the weapon still haunts him. His recollection was shared by Leavitt, with the caption: “Stop what you are doing and read this…”

According to Venezuela’s interior ministry, around security personnel of the country were killed in the US strike.

While it is not unlikely for personnel of a defeated force to speak of “mystery” weapons used by the adversary, it is certainly difficult to explain how the US succeeded in capturing Maduro and his wife so easily without much of a resistance.
