Bhubaneswar: Diesel price in the Temple City increased to ₹80.08 a litre on Sunday, following a hike of 15 paise. This is the first time diesel price has touched the ₹80-mark in the Odisha capital. Two months back, diesel cost ₹66.69 a litre.
Petrol prices, on the other hand, haven’t changed in the last couple of weeks and stands at ₹80.99 a litre. In comparison, it was priced at ₹68.56 a litre in May.
Recently, the country’s biggest carmaker Maruti Suzuki decided to shift focus from diesel vehicles to CNG considering the narrowing price gap between petrol and diesel.
