Ganjam: The Ganjam administration sealed the Digapahandi government hospital on Friday after a pharmacist of the medical facility tested positive for COVID-19.
Earlier, 34 police personnel in the district have tested positive for the virus. Of them, 15 have already recovered from the infection and discharged.
The administration had also launched Mission Zero COVID-19 in the Berhampur Municipal Corporation (BeMC) area after it witnessed several critical COVID-19 cases.
Following the spike in COVID cases, the administration started a mega health screening programme on June 8 through which it planned to cover 3.5 lakh families and identify people with corona-related symptoms.
The administration also said that 2 lakh migrants had returned to the district since the Centre allowed inter-state vehicular movement and started Shramik Special trains in May.
The administration seems to be deploying every method in the book to contain the spread of the virus.
