Diljit Dosanjh Replaces Alcohol With ‘Coke’; Check How Soft Drink Company Reacts

Hyderabad: After the Telangana government issued a notice to Punjabi rapper Diljit Dosanjh prohibiting him from singing songs promoting alcohol and drugs, the singer tweaked the lyrics of his popular songs for the Hyderabad concert.

Diljit replaced words like ‘daaru’ in his songs with ‘Coke.’ He changed “5 tara theke” to “5 tara hotel,” and “daaru ‘ch lemonade” to “Coke ‘ch lemonade,” for his concert.

He also tweaked “Dooja kamm bottlaan de datt pattne” to “Dooja kamm Coke de datt pattne.”

The singer’s fans went gaga over the tweaked lyrics during the concert. Soft drink company Coca-Cola also lauded Diljit for promoting their brand.

“Chautha kaam twade gaane japne (fourth task is worshipping your songs), Coca-Cola wrote on its their official Instagram handle, along with a smiley and heart emoji.

One netizen wrote, “Coke has made incredible impressions with the recent tweak in lyrics by Diljit.”

“This could be one in a life time free offer for Coca Cola that gave them much highlight,” quipped another user.

Diljit criticised the Telangana government for failing to impose similar restrictions on foreign artists who hold concerts in the state.
