Puri: The Odisha government will provide financial assistance to the landless farmers under its newly launched KALIA (Krushak Assistance for Livelihood and Income Augmentation) scheme on February 15.
Briefing mediapersons after attending the second phase meeting of the KALIA scheme at the State Secretariat here, principal secretary, Agriculture, Sourabh Garg said about 4-5 lakh landless farmers will be provided Rs 5000 each in the first phase on February 15. The money will be credited to their bank account through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).
He further said that the meeting also decided to provide financial assistance to about 14 lakh small and marginal farmers on February 22.
