Chennai: Vignesh Shivan’s upcoming film has an interesting title – ‘LIC’, which stands for ‘Love Insurance Corporation’.
However, the Tamil language film has run into trouble over its title.
A direct clash with Life Insurance Corporation (LIC) of India, the makers of the film have received a notice from the insurance company.
Cinema Xpress reported that the insurance company doesn’t want the title to be used as its acronym.
The notice reportedly states that if the makers don’t change the film’s title, LIC of India could take legal action by moving court.
‘Love Insurance Corporation’ stars actor-filmmaker Pradeep Ranganathan and Krithi Shetty in lead roles, it was announced in December last year.
The romantic comedy, whose music is being scored by Anirudh Ravichander, also features SJ Suryah in a key role.
“Thanking God and the universe for making this dream project of mine come true,” director-producer Vignesh had written along with sharing photos from the mahurat last month.
