Puri: The dismantling of the three chariots of the Lords of Jagannath Temple here began on Wednesday.
The dismantling work began with Bhoi Maharana sevayats removing the upper portion of Darpadalana chariot of Goddess Subhadra. A crane was then used to keep the removed part of the chariots on the ground.
As decided, the dismantling and reassembly of the three chariots will be completed in 25 days for which the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration has sanctioned Rs 1 lakh as advance money.
The temple administration has entrusted the assistant engineer Gokulanand Sabat to oversee the entire process.
