Dispute Over Drinks Leads Man To ‘Murder’ Old Friend In Odisha’s Sundargarh
Rourkela: A dispute between two old friends in inebriated condition allegedly led one to stab another to death in Odisha’s Sundargarh district.
According to sources, Kalebar Pradhan, a former constable of Colony Pada under Dalki panchayat of Raiboga tehsil and his friend Samir Kisan had drinks on Thursday night. After getting drunk, Samir invited Kalebar to sleep in his house as it had become late.
While the two friends were going to Samir’s house, they had an argument on the way. However, both slept under the influence of alcohol in one cot after reaching the house.
But Samir got up early in the morning and attacked Kalebar, who was still sleeping, with a sharp weapon. Shocked by the attack, Kalebar tried to protect himself and shouted for help. But he fell down unconscious after sustaining critical injuries on head and waist.
As Samir’s neighbours went to his house on hearing the shouting, he fled. The neighbours found Kalebar profusely bleeding and informed the police.
On arriving at Samir’s house, the police rushed Kalebar to a hospital at Burla in Sambalpur where he succumbed. The police registered a case and launched manhunt to trace Samir. Laer, they found him on Raiboga bridge and arrested him.
