Berhampur: Ganjam district president of BJD Mahila Morcha Sanghamitra Dalei had a narrow escape when a truck hit her car on Sunday.
The incident took place when Sanghamitra and three other leaders of the BJD Mahila Morcha were returning from Chatrapur after attending ‘Jiban Bindu’ programme of the party. They were going to Kanisi.
According to the complaint filed by Sanghamitra at Golanthara police station, the truck driver hit her car from the back side after they asked him to stop as he was driving in a risky manner on the road. The driver sped away after hitting her car.
Golanthara police managed to nab the driver and helper of the truck in a drunken state after Sanghamitra filed the complaint.
