A dolphin will greet visitors to a movable freshwater tunnel aquarium, which was opened at Bengaluru City Railway Station on Thursday.
The first-of-its-kind aquarium in an Indian railway station has been set up by Indian Railway Stations Development Corporation Limited (IRSDC) in collaboration with HNi Aquatic Kingdom.
When visitors enter the aquatic park, a dolphin will greet them with a “slight bow and a smile.”
The aquarium, aimed at providing passengers waiting for their trains a good time, is based on the concept of Amazon river and promises to be a visual treat, IRSDC said in a statement.
The aquatic park will also help Indian Railways earn some revenue. Entry tickets will be Rs 25 per person.
During the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, strict norms have been put in place whereby not more than 25 people can visit the aquarium at a time.
IRSDC added that the 12-feet long aquatic kingdom is Indian Railways’ first paludarium housing myriad flora and fauna.
