Patna: Hours after stepping down from JD(U) president’s post and handing over reins to party leader Ramchandra Prasad Singh, known as RCP Singh, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar claimed he didn’t want the CM’s post.
Kumar said that he had to accept the position following immense pressure and now he is least bothered about who takes up the position.
“People are saying that the BJP wants the CM’s position. I do not care. I am not attached to the position,” Kumar apparently said during his party’s national executive meeting.
“After the election results came, I made my wish known to the coalition. But the pressure was so much that I had to take up work again,” Kumar was quoted as saying by Times Now.
Significantly, Kumar’s remark has come amid mounting tensions within the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) after six JD(U) MLAs decided to leave the party and join the BJP in Arunachal Pradesh.
