Don’t Give Into Blackmailing, Immediately Report To Police: Cuttack DCP
Cuttack: Following the alleged gangrape of a college girl, Cuttack DCP Jagmohan Meena on Friday appealed to victims of blackmailing, to immediately report the matter to police.
“I appeal to all women not be trapped or get scared when blackmailed. We have dedicate women desks at police stations where the victims can report blackmailing incident without any hesitation,” he told reporters.
Giving detailing on the gangrape incident, the DCP said that a case was registered at Badambadi police station on November 4 under Sections related to sexual assault, intimidation and abetment and SC/ST Act & IT Act. “Six people were involved in the incident as per the FIR. They were threatening the survivor with a obscene video. While four of them had sexually assaulted her on two different dates, the remaining two are accused of threatening her and abetment,” the DCP said.
He further stated that a special team was formed under IICs of Badambadi and Purghat police stations to nab the culprits. “Three of the accused were arrested on November 5 and the remaining three the following day,” he said, adding the devices seized will be sent for forensic analysis.

The DCP has directed officials concerned to immediately seal the cafe under Purighat Police limits, where the accused boyfriend and his friends allegedly made an obscene video of the survivor and later gangraped her by threatening to make it viral.
