Pune: There can’t be a more painful scenario that a mother writing to the country’s Prime Minister seeking justice for her son’s killing.
Rakhi Agarwal, mother of deceased Pune businessman Ketan Agarwal has appealed for the strictest punishment for the accused and requested Narendra Modi to personally ensure her son’s case receives the attention it deserves.
Ketan was allegedly pushed to his death at Pune’s Lohagad Fort by his fiancée and her lover on June 18.
“No mother should ever have to perform the last rites of her own child,” Rakhi wrote in a deeply emotional letter addressed to India’s Prime Minister, describing the brutal manner in which she believed her son was murdered.
“Like every mother, I dreamt of watching Ketan build a beautiful life, get married, and grow old with us. Instead, I had to perform the last rites of my child.”
Striking a poignant tone, she stated that her “whole world is gone” following Ketan’s demise.
“My son was brutally murdered, and with him, meri poori duniya chali gayi (My whole world is gone). Every corner of our home reminds me of him. His room, his clothes, his photographs, and the silence that has replaced his laughter remind me every day that he will never come back,” the letter read.
Rakhi revealed how the family suffered a double tragedy, with Ketan’s grandfather passing away within 20 days, unable to cope with the grief of losing his grandson.
“Within days, our family lost two generations,” Ketan’s mother cried out through her words.
“I am not asking for sympathy or any special favour. I am only asking for justice for my son,” she wrote.
“With folded hands, I humbly request you to kindly ensure that my son’s case receives the attention it deserves and that justice is delivered without unnecessary delay,” Rakhi pleaded.
“Please do not let Ketan become just another case file. He was someone’s son, someone’s grandson, someone’s brother, but to me, woh meri poori duniya tha (he was my whole world),” she went on.
