Double Role: Doctor Couple Treating Patients, Cremating Victims In Odisha’s Nuapada
Nuapada: A doctor couple is the talk of the town here as the two of them have been providing selfless service to coronavirus-affected people.
Not only are they treating COVID-positive patients but also helping cremate those who are succumbing to the deadly virus.
Annada Shankar Das has so far consigned 14 bodies to the flames.
AYUSH doctors Annada Shankar Das and his wife are based at Khariar. Their day begins with attending to patients who have contracted the coronavirus infection.
As soon as his hospital duty gets over, Dr Annada Das visits rural areas of Nuapada district to make people aware of the deadly coronavirus.
Dr Das also distributes masks and sanitizers to villagers, free of cost in villages.
He makes it a point to keep track of COVID mortalities in the district. He finds out whereabouts of the deceased and prepares with four members of his team to do the needful. All of them don PPE kits while performing the last rites.
Not surprisingly, health officials and district administrators have heaped praise on Dr Das for his yeoman service.
