Bhopal: Fresh details have emerged in the death case of 33-year-old Twisha Sharma. Before she died, reports claimed that she had exchanged messages with her mother showing emotional distress and harassment at her husband’s home.
In messages allegedly sent to her mother, Twisha repeatedly described her situation as unbearable. She also pleaded to be taken away from the house, reports claimed.
In one of the messages, she allegedly claimed that her ‘life has become hell.’ In another message, she wrote, as reported by News 18,: “Take me out of here, they won’t let me live.”
In one of the conversations, Twisha allegedly said she felt “trapped.” She had warned a friend against rushing into marriage. She had also spoken about missing home.
Family members of the woman have alleged that she faced continuous mental harassment, pressure and character assassination at her in-law’s place.
Police have formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to investigate allegations of dowry harassment against her husband, Samarth Singh, and his mother Giribala Singh. Giribala is a retired judge.
Sharma, a resident of Noida, had married Samarth, a Bhopal-based advocate in 2025. Five months later, her family received the news of her death. Twisha died of hanging on Tuesday, according to a post-mortem report as cited in several media reports.
An MBA graduate, she had also appeared in the Telugu film Mugguru Monagallu.
Meanwhile, Giribala has moved Bhopal district court to seek bail in the case on Monday. In her bail petition, Giribala reportedly alleged that the woman was a drug addict.
Her parents had staged a sit-in protest outside MP Chief Minister Mohan Yadav’s residence on Sunday, demanding justice.
The couple had met online and then tied the knot. According to reports, the woman was pregnant at the time of death.
