DPR Soon For 4 NH Projects Worth Rs 15,000 Cr In Odisha: CM Mohan Majhi After Meeting Gadkari In Delhi
New Delhi/Bhubaneswar: The Centre has assured that Detailed Project Reports (DPR) for four National Highway projects worth Rs 15,000 crore in Odisha will be prepared soon, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi said on Tuesday.
After a meeting with Union Road Transport & Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari in New Delhi, the Chief Minister told reporters that the state government is working in close coordination with the Centre for the development of NHs in Odisha.
Detailed discussion was held on proposals for several important NH projects in the state and the Centre agreed to speed up steps for implementation of four major projects, he said.
Union Minister Gadkari said that DPR for the four NH projects worth Rs 15,000 crore as proposed by the state government will be prepared soon, the CM said.
These projects include 6-laning of Bhubaneswar-Puri (60-km) NH with two-lane service road worth Rs 1,800 crore, Chandikhole-Barbil 8-lane worth Rs 10,000 crore, Khurda-Nayagarh NH-57 (54km) 4-lane worth Rs 1,100 crore and Kesinga-Junagarh (NH-26) 4-lane worth Rs 1,000 crore, Majhi said.
He said Law Minister Prithviraj Harichandan, Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja and senior officials were present during the meeting with Gadkari.
Majhi said widening of the NH between Bhubaneswar and the pilgrim town of Puri along with service road will play a significant role in boosting tourism by attracting pilgrims and other visitors from different parts of the counrty.
