Bhubaneswar: The Dr Chandra Bhanu Satpathy Block was inaugurated at SAI International School on Tuesday.
The new block fulfils a long-cherished dream of the school’s founder, the Late Dr Bijaya Kumar Sahoo, to honour Guruji Dr Satpathy, chief patron of SAI International Education Group who is a renowned scholar, spiritual thinker, author and humanitarian.
Guruji, who was warmly welcomed by the SAI fraternity, formally inaugurated the academic block before visiting classrooms and engaging with the learning spaces.
The programme continued at the Indraprastha Auditorium, where Guruji was felicitated.
The lighting of the ceremonial lamp was followed by a soulful performance by the SAI Choir. A special video presentation highlighted Guruji’s life, philosophy, and contributions, offering insight into the values that continue to guide the institution.
In her welcome address, SAI International Educatio
n Group chairperson Dr Silpi Sahoo expressed heartfelt gratitude to Guruji for being the guiding force behind the founder’s vision.
“The inauguration of the Dr. Chandra Bhanu Satpathy Block is a moment of great pride and gratitude for the entire SAI fraternity. Guruji’s wisdom, vision, and lifelong commitment to humanity continue to guide our educational philosophy. This block stands not merely as an infrastructure milestone, but as a living embodiment of values, knowledge, and holistic learning that we strive to impart to every SAIoneer,” Dr Sahoo said.
Dr Satpathy spoke with characteristic humility.
“My relationship with SAI has never been about position, but always about purpose. I do not see myself as a patron; I see myself as a teacher, and I will always remain one. I continue to learn every day from everyone around me,” said Guruji.
Recalling the early years, Guruji reflected, “I remember when the idea of starting this school was first conceived. The vision and countless ideas of my student Bijaya were remarkable, and his determination unwavering. Today, Dr Silpi Sahoo carries this dream forward with dedication, ensuring that his vision continues to evolve and flourish.”
The inauguration of the block, held on the eve of Guruji’s birthday, made the occasion even more special.
