Cuttack: A dreaded criminal, Manoj Patra alias Amit was injured in an exchange of fire with the police at Jagatpur, on the outskirts of Cuttack, on Wednesday afternoon.
Acting on a tip-off, a joint team of Jagatpur Police and a special squad of Commissionerate Police raided the area in Jagatpur Industrial Estate to apprehend the wanted criminal. Seeing the police, Amit opened fire. His right leg was injured in a retaliatory bullet fired by the police.

The police later seized a country-made revolver, two live bullets, four cartridges and a car from his possession and admitted him to the SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack.
