‘Drishyam’ Director Nishikant Kamat Fighting For Life At Hyderabad Hospital
Hyderabad: Contrary to the earlier news of filmmaker Nishikant Kamat’s death, it has now been reported that he is still on a ventilator.
Actor Sharad Kelkar confirmed to ETImes that the popular filmmaker is on life support, in a critical condition.
Actor Riteish Deshmukh also confirmed the same. “It was earlier erroneously reported that the filmmaker had died and the error is regretted.“Nishikant kamat is on ventilator support. He is still alive & fighting. Let’s pray for him,” the actor wrote, reported Hindustan Times.

The fifty-year-old Bollywood filmmaker is fighting for life at a Hyderabad hospital. He had been diagnosed with chronic liver disease and other secondary infections, Entertainment Times (ET) reported.
Kamat has directed Bollywood films like the Ajay Devgn and Tabu- starrer ‘Drishyam’, and Irrfan Khan’s ‘Madaari’. He has also worked with John Abraham in two films, ‘Force’ and ‘Rocky Handsome’. Apart from that, he directed ‘Mumbai Meri Jaan’ featuring R Madhavan, Soha Ali Khan, Irrfan Khan, Paresh Rawal and Kay Kay Menon.
Kamat is also known for directing Marathi films. Some of his films are Riteish Deshmukh starrer ‘Lai Bhaari’ and Swwapnil Joshi’s ‘Fugay’ and ‘Dombivali Fast’.
