Balasore: A truck driver was critically injured after his heavy vehicle overturned on National Highway-60 under Basta police limits in Odisha’s Balasore district on Saturday night.
According to sources, the accident occurred near Boulagadia when a vehicle collided with the truck, causing it to veer off its lane, smash into roadside barriers, and overturn. The impact severely mangled the front portion of the truck, trapping the driver inside the cabin. Local residents alerted police, who along with fire service personnel and volunteers, rescued the injured driver from the wreckage. He was immediately shifted to a nearby hospital in Balasore and later referred to a more advanced medical facility due to his critical condition.
Traffic on NH-60 was halted for nearly 2 hours as cranes and tow trucks were deployed to clear the wreckage.
