New Delhi: Minutes after Prime Minister Narendra Modi issued a stern warning to Pakistan for sponsoring terrorism, there drones were spotted and explosions heard in parts of Jammu and some Punjab cities on Monday night.
Red streaks were seen and explosions heard in Jammu & Kashmir’s Samba, ANI reported. Around 10 to 12 drones were intercepted by India’s air defence system in Samba which was under blackout.
Small arms firing was reported on the International Border in Samba and Hiranagar in J & K.
Samba apart, Jammu, Samba and the Vaishno Devi Bhawan and Yatra Track areas were also plunged into darkness.
Drones also swarmed into cities like Kathua, Akhnoor, Pathankot, according to Republic TV.
Army sources said a small number of drones, compared to last week’s intrusions, have come in the Samba sector. “They are being engaged and there is nothing to be alarmed,” ANI quoted an Army officer as saying.
