Nabarangpur: A police constable allegedly misbehaved with a married woman at Umerkote town in Nabarangpur district in an inebriated state on Sunday night.
The matter came to the fore after a video featuring the incident went viral.
In the video, the constable can be seen approaching the woman and asking for her mobile number. The cop then dances on the road while making lewd gesture at her. He is also captured scolding some locals for opposing his act.
The erring cop has been identified as Suresh Patra, posted at Naka Police Outpost which was opened four days ago.
According to available information, the incident took place when the woman was having ‘gupchup’ with her husband at Old Bus Stand in Umerkote area at around 9 pm. The constable came near the couple and asked the woman for her mobile number. When she refused, he started misbehaving with her in full public glare.
