New Delhi: Delhi University is considering to give full scholarship to students whose parents are no more or are unemployed.
While online registration for undergraduate programmes commences from May 30, postgraduate (PG) programmes, postgraduate Diploma in Cyber Security and Law and M.Phil or PhD programmes are to start there from June 3.
“University of Delhi is considering full scholarship to students whose parents are dead or unemployed and half fee waiver to those whose earning member is dead,” varsity authorities were quoted as saying in a PTI report appearing on NDTV.
The registration process of all the programmes will be completely online for all categories and quota.
The Dean, Students’ Welfare Office, will organise open day sessions. Candidates aspiring for admission into undergraduate courses and their parents can attend the Open Day programme and understand the admission process in the colleges of the university.
The colleges will also organise counselling sessions and set up help desks during the admission process.
This year, the varsity is increasing seats by 10 per cent for economically weaker sections.
While registering for the courses, the students will have to specify whether they are from Economically Weaker Sections and will have to upload a certificate as proof.
