Bhubaneswar: Sprinter Dutee Chand has been taking to social media of late to express her displeasure over the treatment meted out to her. In a recent Facebook post, she slammed the Odisha government for not providing her a residential plot despite having promised to do.
She has also posted a letter dated May 11, 2016, addressed to the Joint Secretary, General Administration (GA) department, to allot residential plot to her.
“The state government has not kept its words. They had promised to provide residential plot to Olympians, but are yet to make an allotment. How long do we have to wait?” the ace sprinter wrote in Odia.
The letter also mentions the names of Purnima Hembram, Jauna Murmu, Amiya Kumar Mallick and Srabani Nanda, who were also supposed to be allotted a residential plot each.
The India’s fastest woman athlete had also narrated her unpleasant experience over using VIP parking area near Jagannath Temple in Puri, on social media platform recently.
“Police personnel ask me for VIP pass for parking vehicle in the earmarked area, every time I visit Puri. Someone who has represented India in the Olympics is not a VIP? What shall I do to become a VIP? Kindly suggest,” Dutee asked on Facebook.
In the post written in Odia, she had lashed out at the on-duty police personnel for not allowing her to park her car in the VIP parking lot during her trip to the 12th century shrine on April 12.
