Bhubaneswar: The Railway Recruitment Cell of East Coast Railway has invited applications from interested candidates for filling up 1216 apprentice positions.
The last date to apply online is January 6, 2020.

Eligibility:
The candidate should have completed 15 years of age and should not be more than 24 years.
Upper age limit is relaxable by 5 years in case of SC/ST candidates and 3 years in case of OBC ones.
Educational qualification:
The candidate must have passed the Class 10 examination or its equivalent with minimum 50 per cent marks, in aggregate, from a recognised board and also should possess the National Trade Certificate in the notified trade issued by NCVT/SCVT.
However, for Trade Welder (Gas and Electric), Sheet Metal Worker, Wireman and Carpenter the minimum educational qualification is Class 8 pass from a recognised school and the National Trade Certificate in the notified trade issued by NCVT/SCVT, said the recruitment notification.
Selection:
Selection will be on the basis of a merit list prepared in respect of all the eligible candidates who apply for the positions. The merit list will be prepared by taking the average of matriculation (with a minimum of 50 per cent (aggregate) marks) and ITI (in the trade in which apprenticeship is to be done) marks. The merit list will be prepared by taking the average of the percentage marks obtained by the candidate in both matriculation and ITI examination giving equal weightage to both.
For example, If a candidate has secured 80.58 per cent marks in the Class 10 examination and 91.68 per cent marks in ITI, then marks considered for selection will be ½ [80.58 + 91.68] = 86.13.
