Sonepur: Eco-tourism facility was inaugurated at Harihar Jor, an attractive tourist spot in Odisha’s Sonepur district, on Thursday.
According to a Forest department release, Regional Chief Conservator of Forest (RCCF) Ashwini Kar and district collector Bimalendu Ray inaugurated the facility at a function on the day.
Under the state government’s eco-tourism project, Harihar Jor dam under Sonepur Forest Division has several facilities including boating, rest room, picnic spot, toilets and parking lot for the tourists. The management of the project has been entrusted with Khajuriapali Vana Surakhya Samiti.
The government has already opened eco-tourism facilities at 33 tourist places in the state. Those include Bhitarkanika, Similipal, Satakosia, Chilika, Daringbadi, Chandaka, Khandadhar, Tensa and Chitrakonda.
