Bhubaneswar: A minor fire incident occurred at Mancheswar Railway Workshop in Bhubaneswar on Thursday evening, but was quickly brought under control with no injuries or damage reported, according to East Coast Railway (ECoR).
The incident took place around 8.30 pm in the scrap deposit line area of the Coaching Depot at the workshop. Depot staff responded immediately upon receiving the alert, using the workshop’s internal resources to contain and extinguish the smoke and flames effectively. “There has been no damage to any railway property, infrastructure or rolling stock and no injury to any person has been reported. The situation is completely normal and under control,” the press note clarified.
While some media outlets reported a “major fire” resulting in damage worth crores of rupees with multiple fire service teams called in to douse the flames, the ECoR debunked these claims.
