Bhubaneswar: The East Coast Railway (ECoR) has issued helpline numbers for passengers in view of severe cyclonic storm ‘Dana’, which is expected to make landfall between the Bhitarkanika National Park and Dhamra Port in Odisha early on Friday with wind speeds of up to 120 kmph.
The ECoR has issued separate helpline numbers for different stations under its jurisdiction.

More than 200 trains have been cancelled till October 27 in view of the impending cyclone.

On Wednesday, Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said all steps are being taken to make sure that there is minimum disruption of train services. Specialised teams have been positioned for swift restoration of tracks, signalling systems, and electrification at various locations, including Soro, Jaleswar and other important stations. Diesel locomotives have also been kept on standby to ensure train operations if power outages occur.
Stations along Bhubaneswar-Visakhapatnam corridor are being closely monitored due to the Red Alert issued for coastal areas. Adequate arrangements for food and medicines are being made at all important stations in order to cater the trains which might be controlled due to the cyclone, the ECoR said in a release.
More than 170 express and passenger trains, which were scheduled to depart their originating stations between October 23 and 27 ,under South Eastern Railway (SER) jurisdiction have also been cancelled.
