Bhubaneswar: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has attached the properties of a mining company amounting to more than Rs 21 crore on the charge of money laundering in Odisha.
According to sources, the ED has attached 18 properties of Anmol Mines Pvt Ltd including seven plots of land in Barbil, six plots in Khurda, a residential flat in Cuttack and four properties in Bhubaneswar. The value of the attached properties was estimated to be around Rs 21.15 crore.
Pursuing a case of bank fraud by Indian Technomac Co Ltd (ITCOL) and others, the ED had traced involvement of Anmol Mines. Later, the enforcement agency had seized the properties of the mining company under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), 2002.
A private unlisted company, Anmol Mines’ authorised capital stands at Rs 200 lakh and has a 0.5% paid-up capital which is Rs 1.0 lakh. It has been involved in mining and quarrying business for the last 13 years.
