Khurda: Police, on Saturday, arrested eight persons on charges of attempting to kill two tehsildars and an additional tehsildar.
Eight platoon forces led by SP carried out a raid at Badapokharia village after a tip-off about their presence in the locality.
The tehsildar of Tangi and Khurda and additional tehsildar of Chilika were attacked by a group of around 50 miscreants while they were returning from Patrapada after conducting simultaneous raids at seven illegal stone mines in the area.
Later, the miscreants, allegedly stone mafia, took away a truck, one tractor and a JCB machine which had been seized by the trio.
Police had earlier nabbed one person in connection with the incident.
