Eight Odisha Districts To Experience Rain In Next 48 Hours

Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted light to moderate rain and thundershower at one or two places in eight interior districts of Odisha in the next 48 hours.

In a morning bulletin on Saturday, the IMD said as some parts of Odisha had experienced moderate to heavy rainfall recently, there is enough moisture in the atmosphere. And with the sudden rise in the day temperature, there will be convectional rainfall at some places.

“As per the modular study, there will be light to moderate rain or thundershower with lightning at one or two places in Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Gajapati and Balasore districts on March 2 and Gajapati, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar and Rayagada on March 3,” the bulletin said.

It also said that the minimum night temperature will be below normal by 3-4 degree Celsius during the next 2-3 days till March 1 while the maximum day will gradually rise by 2-4 degree Celsius during the next 2-4 days till March 2. Besides, shallow to moderate fog is likely at one or two places in coastal and south interior Odisha during this period.

Meanwhile, the night temperature recorded in the last 24 hours till 8.30 am on Saturday was lowest in Daringbadi at 10.5 degree Celsius followed by Phulbani (10.8) while temperature remained at 15 degrees and below in Angul (11.6), Jharsuguda (14.8), Keonjhar (14.4), Sambalpur (14.1), Sundargarh (13.5), Bhawanipatna (15), Balangir (15), Koraput (14.6), Rayadaga (15), Titlagarh (11.5), Sonepur (11) and Nayagarh (14).

On the other hand, Malkangiri recorded the highest day temperature at 35 degree Celsius while the mercury hovered above 30 degrees at Chandbali (30.1), Cuttack (30), Gopalpur (31.8), Angul (30.7), Jharsuguda (31.2), Sambalpur (30.6), Hirakud (30.1), Bhawanipatna (30), Balangir (30.5), Titlagarh (31), Sonepur (30), Nayagarh (30), Boudh (31), Parlakhemundi (32.1) and Rayagada (33.1).
