Bhubaneswar: The inaugural edition of ‘Culture, Crafts, and Conversations’ was launched from Odisha State Archives here on Wednesday under the banner of Ekamra Walks, coinciding with inauguration of Pravasi Bharatiya Divas in Bhubaneswar.
The participants got a rare glimpse of the treasure trove at the State Archives, which is generally reserved for researchers, as they explored British-era audits of Shree Jagannatha Temple and witnessed the intricate process of document conservation.
They also got an opportunity to view heritage collections up close, guided by experts. The walk’s second segment included an engaging guided tour of the Kala Bhoomi – Odisha Crafts Museum, and ended with a serene flute recital on the premises.
The Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA) in collaboration with the Odisha State Archives is organising special-access custom-curated walks and displays for the public from January 7 to January 10, while allowing delegates visiting the city for the 3-day convention of Indian diaspora to experience Odisha’s living cultural heritage.
This limited-edition cultural walk will continue till next Friday.
