Elephant Herd Spotted Near Govt Hospital In Odisha’s Khurda Town
Bhubaneswar: A herd of elephants strayed into Khurda town, triggering panic among locals late on Saturday evening.
The herd had reportedly crossed National Highway 57 and entered the town and was spotted near district headquarters hospital. The elephants, however, caused no damage to the lives or properties in the area.
Finding two or three elephants on the road, locals immediately informed police. A team of forest department officials has been engaged in driving the jumbos back to the forest, sources said.
In March, a herd of four elephants were spotted moving in the Sikharchandi Hills area in Bhubaneswar. They had strayed into the city from the nearby Bharatpur forest.
