Elon Musk Offers To Buy Twitter For $43 Billion; Check His Letter
San Francisco: SpaceX CEO Elon Musk has offered to buy Twitter Inc. for $43 billion, Bloomberg reported.
Musk (50) announced the offer in a filing with the US Securities and Exchange Commission on Thursday, days after becoming the largest individual shareholder at the company. The company offered him a seat on the board following the announcement, which he refused.
After his stake became public, Musk tweeted about turning Twitter’s San Francisco headquarters into a homeless shelter and adding an edit button for tweets to granting automatic verification marks to premium users. In one tweet, he also asked whether Twitter is dying, giving a list of top followers who rarely tweet.
Musk is currently worth about $260 billion. Twitter’s market valuation is about $37 billion.
