Eminent Mahabharat Researcher Prof. Griffiths Visits Bhubaneswar’s SOA

Bhubaneswar: Eminent researcher Prof. Arlo Griffiths, a professor of south-east Asian history, visited the SOA Centre for Preservation, Propagation and Restoration of Ancient Culture and Heritage of India (PPRACHIN) here to acquaint himself with the work being done at the centre.

Prof. Griffiths, who attended the first World Odia Language Conference here recently, showed keen interest on publication of critical edition of the original Sarala Mahabharata by PPRACHIN.

A frequent visitor to Odisha who speaks fluent Odia, Prof. Griffiths has been conducting research on Mahabharata for the last 20 years.

Prof. Griffiths, who is currently based in Indonesia, works as professor at the French School of Asian Studies.

He exchanged views on various topics during his meeting with SOA Founder President Prof. (Dr) Manojranjan Nayak.

SOA Vice-Chancellor Prof. Pradipta Kumar Nanda, Prof. Gouranga Charan Das, Prof. Pradipta Kumar Panda and Prof. Santosh Rath – who are members of PPRACHIN’S editorial board for Sarala Mahabharatha — were also present.
