Engineer Arrested For Cryptic Social Media Post On Bomb Scare At Anant-Radhika Wedding
Bhubaneswar: Mumbai Police traced the social media user, whose cryptic post about a potential bomb threat at billionaire Mukesh Ambani’s son Anant’s wedding made headlines, to Vadodara in Gujarat on Tuesday.
The accused, a 32-year-old engineer, was arrested for the social media post.
According to a PTI report, the accused was identified as Viral Shah. The report quoted a senior police official stating that the accused was nabbed from his residence by the Mumbai police’s Crime Branch.
The accused, who had identified himself as @FFSFIR on X, had suggested a disruptive scenario stating that if a bomb would explode at the wedding of Anant and Radhika Merchant, then the economy of the entire world would be turned upside down. “A shameless thought crept into my mind that if a bomb went off at Ambani’s wedding, half the world would turn upside down. Trillions of dollars in one pin code,” the post read.
Acting on a tip off by a concerned citizen, police launched a hunt for the accused. Though they deemed the bomb threat a hoax, they heightened the security measures in and around the wedding venue at Bandra-Kurla Complex in Mumbai.
Media reports stated that the accused was being brought to Mumbai.
Anant Ambani, who is the youngest son of Mukesh Ambani, got married to Radhika Merchant, who is the daughter of pharma tycoons Viren and Shaila Merchant. The extravagant wedding was held at Jio World Convention Centre in the Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC). The wedding was attended by celebrities from across the globe, businessmen, billionaires and top politicians on July 12.
