Bhubaneswar: The Economic Offences Wing of Odisha Crime Branch on Friday arrested a realtor on fraud charges.
The accused identified as SK Hasib, 46 of Sanakujhala in Jajpur district was arrested in connection with a case filed by one Mohammad Nawaz Hassan last year. He is being sent to the OPID Court, Cuttack.
According to EOW sources, the complainant, Mohammad Nawaz Hassan had paid Rs 22.55 lakh to Hasib, managing director of M/S Wellmade Builders Pvt. Ltd in 2013 through cash and bank transactions to purchase a plot at Adarsha Nagar in Mouza-Ramdaspur, Baranga and a shop at Raghunathpur near Nandankanan in Bhubaneswar.
The accused persons also issued a receipt and executed an agreement for this purpose, but failed to deliver the land or return the money.
When the petitioner/complainant approached Hasib, he was threatened with dire consequences. Subsequently, Hasib closed down the company’s office and absconded.
Earlier, two persons, Rahematun Nesha and SK Majhar were arrested and sent to the OPID Court in this case.
