Cuttack: Although a constable of Sambalpur district and a warder of the Sambalpur Circle Jail have been arrested in connection with the escape of the dreaded gangster Sheikh Hyder from the SCB Medical College and Hospital, here on April 10, the Commissionerate Police has no clue of the person who played a key role in his admission to the hospital.
The police have collected all document from the SCB Hospital relating to the shifting of Hyder from VIMSAR, Burla including bed ticket of the surgery ward and the duty hours of the staff nurses in the ward. But there is no information about the person who had allotted a cabin in the surgery ward to the gangster within 24 hours.
Apart from this, the police are yet to get the details as to how the CCTV camera in the surgery ward was switched off on the day of the escape of the gangster.

What is more surprising is that the police are yet to take any action against the concerned doctors and staff of the Veer Surendra Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (VIMSAR). The police have also not probes why the VIMSAR authorities referred the gangster to the SCB for surgery which they could have done there.

Meanwhile, the police have found the involvement of the family members of Hyder in his escape.
Apprehending that the police will track the movement of Hyder, one of his sons Sheikh Azharuddin had purchased a new SIM card from a shop in Cuttack city on April 8. But Hyder contacted his girlfriends and his family members on his old mobile number which helped police track the location of the calls to a place at King Kothi in Hyderabad and a rented house in Murshidabad in West Bengal. However, by the time the Commissionerate Police arrived at Murshidabad, Azharuddin had switched off his mobile phone and left the place.
As Azharuddin’s mobile phone remains switched off, the Commissionerate Police are yet to trace him, Kalia (a distant relative) and the younger son-in-law of Hyder.
