Mumbai: Actress Esha Deol and her husband Bharat Takhtani have announced divorce after 12 years of marriage.
In a joint statement, the couple described the separation as ‘amicable’. Esha is the daughter of Bollywood icons Hema Malini and Dharmendra.
“We have mutually and amicably decided to part ways. Through this shift in our lives, the best interests and welfare of our two children is and will be of utmost importance to us. We’d appreciate our privacy is respected,” the statement read.
Bharat and Esha are parents to daughters Radhya, aged 6 years and Miraya, aged 4 years.
Previously, a post on Reddit gained traction with the speculation that Esha and Bharat may have parted ways. This was prompted by observations that she had been appearing at public events without her spouse in recent times.
