Bhubaneswar: The evaluation of the Matric examination papers, which was suspended due to the COVID-19 outbreak, will begin from May 20, School and Mass Education Minister Samir Ranjan Dash said on Saturday.
The evaluation will be held at 60 centres across the state with strict adherence to the social distancing norms, the minister informed after a video conference meet with senior officials of the Board of Secondary Education (BSE).
Dash stated that the invigilators have been asked to report to their respective evaluation centres by May 19.
He also said that in view of the prevailing situation, the state government has decided to provide a special incentive to all the examiners apart from their daily allowance.

Asked about the evaluation of papers in the red zones, he said the BSE authorities will take up the matter with the respective district administrations. However, no evaluation will be conducted in the areas which have been declared as containment zones.
“Efforts are on to announce the results in the last week of July,” he pointed out.
Among others, BSE president Ramashis Hazra was present at the video conferencing.
