Eviction Drive: Dharmendra Urges Odisha Govt To Seek Puri Seer’s Advice

Puri: Senior BJP leader and Union minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Thursday urged the Odisha government to seek the advice of the Shankaracharya of Gobardhan Peeth in connection with the demolition of the mutts near Jagannath Temple in Puri.

Briefing the media after a meeting with the Shankaracharya Swami Nischalananda Saraswati this afternoon, the Union Minister said efforts should be made to conserve the century-old mutts with modern technology and those who are in charge of the eviction drive should be meticulous about it and seek the advice of the seer. “I hope that the state government will take a positive step in this regard,” he pointed out.

Dharmendra further said that that the intervention of the Gajapati Maharaja of Puri in this matter is also required.
