New York: Fired from Twitter soon after Elon Musk acquired the micro-blogging site last October, CEO Parag Agarwal had gone down quietly. Or so it seemed.
Nearly six months after the humiliating exit, the Indian-origin former CEO has hit back at Musk’s company.
Parag and two other ousted executives — former chief financial officer Ned Segal and chief legal officer Vijaya Gadde — have taken Twitter to court, claiming that the company owes them more than $1 million, and is legally bound to pay them.
The trio is also seeking reimbursement for costs of litigation, investigations and congressional inquiries related to their previous jobs, AFP reported.

The court highlighted several expenses related to inquiries by the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and Department of Justice (DOJ), without mentioning details of the nature of investigations.
The three ex-executives have argued that Twitter is bound by agreements to reimburse them, but has so far only acknowledged receiving their invoices.
After Musk fired Parag and the other top executives, the three of them “provided testimony to the SEC last year and have continued to engage with federal authorities,” court documents showed.
The SEC is investigating whether Musk complied with securities-related rules when he amassed Twitter shares.
Tesla and SpaceX boss Musk went on to lay off nearly 50% of Twitter’s total 7,500 workforce worldwide.
