Puri: Keeping the Rath Yatra that concluded on Tuesday and Bahuda Yatra ahead under consideration, the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) has taken a slew of measures for protection of servitors against spread of coronavirus.
Speaking to mediapersons on Wednesday, Krishan Kumar, Chief Administrator of Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) said they have placed an order of 5,000 maks with Boyanika to be distributed among the servitors. Hand sanitizers will also be provided to their families, he added.
Besides, a health centre will be opened exclusively for the families of the sevayats. The state government will appoint doctors and medical staff and provide medicines to the health centre, the Chief Administrator said.
The district collector is preparing a special team which will meet the servitors and explain to them the precautions to be taken on COVID-19 pandemic, he said.
