Exit Polls: PM Modi May Sweep To Third Term With Around 350 Seats For NDA
New Delhi: The numerous exit polls, following the seventh and final phase of polling in Lok Sabha elections 2024, are gradually being unravelled and analysed in television studios on Saturday evening.
But if the projections of multiple pollsters are correct, Narendra Modi is set to return as Indian Prime Minister for a third successive term with another overwhelming majority for BJP-led NDA.
Apart from one, most of the exit polls are predicting at least 350 seats out of 543 for the ruling NDA. And of those numbers, BJP alone is projected to bag anything between 315 and 330 seats.
Though the BJP’s “is bar char sau paar” (this time 400-plus) war cry may not materialise according to the exit polls, the Opposition INDIA bloc, nonetheless, is getting blown away.
The 26-party INDIA group is projected to bag between 135 and 150 seats, with Congress likely to win around 65 to 75 seats. Though that will be an improvement from the 2019 number of 52 and 2014 return of 44 for the grand old party, it will be far less that what Rahul Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge are hoping for.
“The opportunistic INDI Alliance failed to strike a chord with the voters. They are casteist, communal and corrupt. This alliance, aimed to protect a handful of dynasties, failed to present a futuristic vision for the nation. Through the campaign, they only enhanced their expertise on one thing- Modi bashing. Such regressive politics has been rejected by the people,” Prime Minister Modi posted on X hours after ending his 45-hour meditation at Kanyakumari.
