Dubai: Explosions reverberated across Dubai and Qatar’s capital Doha early on Tuesday amid an intensifying exchange of strikes between Israel and Iran. In Dubai, the blasts followed a mobile phone alert urging residents to “immediately seek a safe place” due to “potential missile threats,” according to AFP.
In a separate incident, an unidentified projectile struck a tanker approximately 23 nautical miles east of Fujairah in the United Arab Emirates, inflicting minor structural damage, the United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) reported on Tuesday. No injuries or pollution resulted from the incident. In a related development, a fire erupted in the Fujairah Oil Industry Zone after an Iranian drone attack. Local civil defense teams extinguished the blaze without casualties.
In Iraq, a barrage of at least five drones and rockets targeted the US Embassy in Baghdad on Tuesday, Iraqi security sources described as the most intense assault in the ongoing wave of attacks. While several projectiles were intercepted, some impacts were recorded. Casualties, if any, were not immediately confirmed.
The incidents coincide with the conflict entering its third week. Israel announced on Monday that it had prepared detailed plans for at least three more weeks of operations, including overnight strikes on multiple sites across Iran and escalated bombardments against Hezbollah positions in Lebanon.
Israel’s military issued an evacuation order for residents of the southern village of Arab al-Jal, targeting “military infrastructure” linked to Hezbollah. The Arabic-language spokesperson specified that occupants of buildings marked in red on an issued map — along with nearby structures, including H Popey Pizza, La Rawchet Chocolate, and Sarba Pharmacy —must relocate at least 300 meters away. The statement warned that remaining near these sites could expose civilians to serious risk.
