In order to protect the children from forbidden contents on the internet, Facebook has added a new feature that will help them watch out for potentially harmful interactions and possible scams.
The users can see safety notices pop-up on chat providing tips to spot suspicious activity or take action such as blocking someone when something doesn’t feel right.
“Privacy, safety and security are fundamental to Messenger. We work hard to ensure Messenger is a safe place to connect with the people who matter most while also protecting their privacy,” said Jay Sullivan, Director of Product Management, Messenger Privacy and Safety.
The conversations are also encrypted end-to-end like WhatsApp.
Besides, the company is using machine learning that looks at behavioral signals like an adult sending a large amount of friend or message requests to people under 18, Sullivan said.
